Animator & Artist

Sabrina Ontiveros is a student in the Creative Media Institute at New Mexico State University pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Animation and Visual Effects. She is expected to graduate in May 2026. Sabrina’s work focuses on storytelling through animation, combining darker visual aesthetics with emotional themes and subtle humor.

Her interest in animation began at a young age after being inspired by films such as Mulan and darker storytelling styles seen in the work of Tim Burton, the game Fran Bow, and the animated sequence in Avenged Sevenfold’s music video “A Little Piece of Heaven.” These influences shaped her passion for creating stories that connect emotionally with audiences while maintaining a unique visual tone.

During her time at NMSU, Sabrina has developed several original creative projects that explore character design, 2d/3d animation, compositing, and storytelling. Her work often blends eerie atmospheres with expressive characters, reflecting her interest in both emotional depth and stylized design.

Sabrina’s long-term goal is to work in the animation industry, creating animated films, television shows, video games, music videos, and other visual media that leave a lasting emotional impact on audiences. Through her work, she hopes to tell meaningful stories while continuing to explore creative and unconventional artistic styles.
